Welcome to the Paris Node of the first Pan-European Quantum Internet Hackathon! We take on the Quantum Internet simultaneously in six nodes across Europe on 5-6 November 2019. The other nodes are Delft, Dublin, Geneva, Padua, and Sarajevo. Find more information on this event here.
Look here for a summary of the results of the hackathon!
Structure
The goal of this hackathon is to develop some of the first applications that use quantum physics to secure online communications.
Participants will work in small teams, with each team focusing on a chosen project. All source code developed during the hackathon will be publicly licensed and available on GitHub, and accessible for the entire community to use.
Since we want to focus on collaboration and not on competition, there will be no single prize winner. We will showcase all achievements during the closing session.
Results
Five great teams formed and took on the challenges during the course of hackathon. We are proud to present their results here:
Team | Challenge |
Magic Team | Magic Square Game Universal Blind Quantum Computing |
OpenSSL Team | Integration of QKD into the OpenSSL library |
Star Expander | Generation of graph states on arbitrary networks |
QNoobs | GHZ state-based Anonymous Transmission |
Quantum Winter | Quantum Cheques |
Application
The event is open for everybody interested in working on the integration of the quantum internet independently of their knowledge of quantum protocols.
The application deadline is October 20, 2019. Apply here: https://www.ripe.net/participate/forms/apply/peqi/.
The event is free of charge – there is no fee to pay. The organizers will not be making any travel or accommodation arrangements for the participants. Food and drinks will be provided throughout the event on both days.
Location
The Paris Node of the hackathon will take place on the premises of Quantonation in Hôtel de Bourrienne, 58 Rue d’Hauteville, 75010 Paris. The door code is B9137. The venue is conveniently reachable by public transport:
- Station Poissonnière (Metro 7), 4 min by foot
- Station Château d’Eau (Metro 4), 6 min by foot
- Station Bonne Nouvelle (Metro 8 and 9), 8 min by foot
